Guru Meditation while taking snapshot
XP x64 host, XP32 guest.
If I take a snapshot of a running VM using the button on VBox Manager's window instead of the command from the VM window's menu (or Host+S) I get a Guru Meditation dialog in the VM's window and also an error dialog in the VBox Manager, telling me that the Vm has been stopped, the snapshot could not be taken and so on.
At that point I can only press OK (thus "badly" powering off the VM) and then start the VM again. In the mean time, however, the VM's Snapshot folder and xml file get somehow messed up, preventing future snapshot operations (such as merging or purging) from being accomplished correctly (I got, for example, a message saying something like "the xxx.vdi file has more than one child").
Looking into the log file I found some rows which seem to be related to the problem, as they are absent in the log files of similar VMs. I put them in the attached file.
Duplicate and fixed in VBox 4.0.4. Next time please attach the complete VBox.log file.
