Debian Lenny guest hangs on host Windows XP

Description

I made a Vbox VM with Debian Lenny. On Linux host all runs fine but if I run the same VM on Windows XP then I will get troubles like freezing of the system for a while (1 min..3 mins or "forever").

The crash/hang only happen when I mount my home driver over the network via smb share. e.g., When I save in eclipse then it can often happen. Here I found out, when the eclipse workspace is localy then nothing will happen.

Guest system is Debian Lenny 5.0 / i386

The network itself runs in bridge mode but the problem happens also in NAT mode.
