synergy not working

Description (last modified by )
I use synergys from a Ubuntu jaunty guest on a OSX 10.4 host. I try share the keyboard and mouse with a Ubuntu jaunty host.
When the mouse enters the jaunty host, it doesn't behave correctly: it first doesn't appear then, after moving the mouse around, it appears at the top of the screen and moves only at the top of the screen.
Another point worth mentioning is that even when synergys is stopped, using the scroll wheel makes the icon at the top left corner on the jaunty *guest* behaves as if the mouse was hovering there (even if it doesn't make the OSX menu bar appears...).
Let me know about any additional information or experiments I can try to help you diagnose the problem.

Mwhahahaha.
Sorry for the noise, the fix is obvious once you think about it...
Disable mouse integration ftw !

I'm not sure exactly how Synergy works. VirtualBox provides an absolute pointing device, like a graphics tablet to the guest. Do you know if Synergy is compatible with that? Furthermore, I assume that one of the computers will be the "main" one with the keyboard and the mouse connected, and the other one a "secondary" one, so perhaps using the physical system (not the virtual one) as your main system will help.

Until bug http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/5672 occurred, the workaround mentioned in the comment (Disable mouse integration) was working great.
So, synergy is working fine under *some* setups, I don't know what change in terms of events presented to the guest between mouse integration enabled or disabled but the symptoms are clear: the mouse cursor seems to be stucked at the top of the screen, it's very hard to make it move elsewhere.
Disable mouse integration and voila, everything is fine.

Is there a way I can help here ? Some setting I can use to provide more info ?
With http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/6714 rendering the 'Disable Mouse Integration' workaround, this has become critical.

Data point: I still use the same configuration described above but updated to OSX 10.6 for the main host, lucid for the guest with the synergy server and lucid too for synergy client (host).
I tried running the synergy server on the OSX host (asking the client to connect there) and the scroll works nicely, that rules out a problem with synergy I think.
I can't use that setup nevertheless as the vbox guest constraints the mouse to stay on my main screen (mouse integration enable/disable has no effect), defeating the mouse sharing...

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
I should mention that I use the guest in full-screen mode, so if the problem is related to mouse sharing between the host and the guest, it would make sense to disable some constraint in that case.
