VirtualBox crashes when trying to install guest addditons

Description

If I click on "Devices", "Install Guest Additions..." sometimes the VM crashes. If above works and I click on "Mount CD/DVD-ROM" and select a Host Drive the VM and the VirtualBox GUI crashes. Note: The guest additions 2.0.2 are already installed on this guest. I only wanted to view the contents of the CD image. Host: Ubuntu Hardy x64 (no VT) Guest: Windows XP Professional

This seems to be a GUI issue. Please could you generate a core dump and make it somehow available to me (frank _dot_ mehnert _at_ sun _dot_ com)? If you do this please tell me which VirtualBox package you installed.

I don't get a core.* file after crash, I attached VBox.log. Here is what is displayed in the terminal:

Replying to frank: Now I attached a core dump. But the crash happened when I clicked on "Unmount CD/DVD-ROM" after a physical DVD-Burner was attached (with passthrough enabled).

scpcom, how did you get these core dumps? Did the VM crash itself or did you create the core dumps by killing the VirtualBox process manually? It seems you did that yourself so in that case they don't help.

Please could you check if version 2.0.4 (please use the 2.0.4 guest additions as well) fixes the problem for you?
