Audio in VirtualBox is not working

Description
Audio in my previously created machines (which include Windows and Linux guests) doesn't work in 4.2.18 on Windows 8 host. When I downgraded to 4.2.10 (which was the last version I used on previous Windows 7 host installation, where the machines were created) audio starts working just perfectly.
This problem happens both on AC'97 and Intel HD audio.
