virtual machines unable to utilize host VPN connection

Description
HOST OSX - seems to happen regardless of version. VM Win 7
If you launch a Juniper VPN connection on the host system after the VM is running, it is unable to utilize the VPN (unless you restart the VM). If you launch the Juniper VPN connection prior to launching the VM it works fine.
This has happened across multiple virtual box versions, with multiple computers tested.
