Windows7x64: host USB devices problems after Virtual Box launch

Description
Hi, If I open the Virtual Box Console, without running VMs, I'm unable to use any USB devices connected to the host. The devices are no longer recognized, also closing the Console. After this, windows restart or shutdown is not possilbe and I need to power-off manually the host.
Details: Host: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (clean install) Virtual Box: VirtualBox-4.1.8-75467-Win (no extension pack)
