Description (last modified by aeichner)

When using Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.1 32 Bit as a guest OS selecting FireFox menu causes the following to be thrown:

Assertion 'pthread_mutex_unlock(&m->mutex) == 0' failed at pulsecore/mutex-posix.c:108, function pa_mutex_unlock(). Aborting

If I down grade to VirtualBox 4.1.0 this does not occur

This seems to be specific to the 32 Bit OEL install because the issues does not appear when running 64 Bit OEL.

You open Firefox in the OL6.1 guest and open a menu and then you see this strange assertion? I've tried to reproduce this with an up-to-date OL6 guest (32-bit) but I was not able to reproduce this problem.

The exact release I have is

Linux oel32bitbase 2.6.32-100.34.1.el6uek.i686

I created a completely new vdi and still see the problem both before and after I install the guest add-ons.

Looks like I downloaded this on the 10th Oct 2011

Another way to reproduce this was to right-click on a FF web page.

Now I use a Logitech Wireless mouse with a Unified USB receiver which appears to be the problem. I have just re-installed 4.1.6 and could generate the same problem. If I shutdown OEL Guest and restart without the USB receiver connected to my PC then I can click on the FF menu items.

So in summary the issue seems to be directly related to the Logitech Unify USB receiver being in place during the start up of the OEL Guest / opening FF for the first time.

If I Open FF and select a menu item without the USB being connected it works and I can then plug the USB in and it will still work.

Unfortunately I don't have a machine running OEL 6.1 32 Bit native to identify if it is an OEL issue or a VirtualBox OEL Guest issue.

Must be a VirtualBox 4.1.6 issue because it works with 4.1.0
