Linux host freezes when vbox attached to wrong interface

Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

OpenSuse 11.3, 2.6.34.7-0.7-pae

I had a normal nic interface setup (and used Bridged networking mode in vbox setup), but recently I reconfigured eth0 in host as bridged interface

brctl show

bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces

br0 8000.00241d844a3c no eth0

ifconfig eth0

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:24:1D:84:4A:3C

UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:72076 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:52149 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:83489786 (79.6 Mb) TX bytes:7145567 (6.8 Mb) Interrupt:28 Base address:0x4000

So eth0 in host not attached to any ip.

And then forget to change setup in vbox, as result host os freeze

Logs is clean enough

The freeze happen with 3.2. and 4.0.4

After setting correct interface (changing eth0 to br0 in vbos setup) all working fine.
