Description
3D Acceleration fails to accelerate many things -- glxgears, Compiz and KDE4 composition desktop.
Host: Windows XP, Intel Core 2 Q6600, ATI Radeon HD 3850, VBox 3.2.8
Guest: openSUSE 11.3 x64
Other Affected Guests: openSUSE 11.1/11.2/11.3, Fedora 12, RHEL6 (BETA1) (both 32 & 64bit)
- openSUSE/KDE3: Running "glxgears" on openSUSE guests makes them run at 250-500 fps, which is a "software rendering" performance.
- openSUSE/KDE4: I have tried to activate KDE4 kwin desktop compositing, but this failed, resetting to 2D mode. How to debug?
- Red Hat/GNOME: Tried to activate Compiz from GNOME menu, but this failed, resetting to 2D mode. How to debug?
