io apic resources could not be allocated

Description

It says this on Fedora Core 11 and Ubuntu 9. I enabled IO ACPI and it does not show the error message but the load screen hangs.

I disabled ACPI and IO ACPI. It does the same thing. I increased the RAM and the video RAM. It does the same thing.

I do not know how to create a VBox.log.

It does this on Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2. Computer Specs:

http://emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T3626

Only difference is that I am running 2 GB of RAM, NVIDIA 8400GS, and a usb stick with ready boost.

The VBox.log file is automatically created when a VM was started. You can find this file by opening the VM menu in the main selector window and go to "Show Log ...". Please attach a log file of such a failing VM session. Leave ACPI enabled.

Are you trying to start a 64-bit guest?
