#20586 new defect

VirtualBox additions: VMSVGA display is not resizable

Reported by: paaguti-u Owned by:
Component: guest additions/x11/graphics Version: VirtualBox 6.1.26
Keywords: VMSVGA, client display resize Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: other

Description

When I select the VMSVGA display, I can't resize the display. VirtualBox additions are installed.

Additionally, selecting VBoxVGA or VBoxSVGA gives a compatibility warning.

I have also noticed that Google Chrome runs noticeable slower when I use the VBox--- display drivers, whereas it runs very well with the (not resizeable) VMSVGA driver

Hi paaguti-u ,

This could be due to multiple reasons. Could you please provide output of

/usr/bin/VBoxClient --vmsvga -f -vvv

Before you run above command, you need to be logged-in into graphical desktop environment and terminate previously running /usr/bin/VBoxClient --vmsvga instance.
