How to reproduce the *freeze*:
Define a VM with 4G RAM, 40G HDD (in fact anything that can run Ubuntu 20.04) Define the VM to run with 2 vcpus (this is the critical stuff) Attach the Ubuntu 20.04 live image to the CDROM in the VM Boot the VM and watch it freeze VirtualBox

More comments... This seems to happen when I have nested virtualisation enabled. I could understand the guest not booting or aborting. I can't understand why the host freezes.
