5.1.22 is unable to find usb

Description
I have been running VBox for 2 years accessing a smartcard reader through USB 3.0.
This morning I upgraded 5.1.22 and was unable to access the reader, or any USB device. When I right click on the USB icon, it says no devices attached, whereas it usually has a long list.
I re-installed 5.1.20 and it works as before. I have no problem with running 5.1.20, so it's not critical for me.
As an aside, when I re-installed 5.1.20, I am still using the 5.1.22 extension pack and guest additions, because, as it usually would, I was not prompted to update. Will this be a problem.
Thanks.

The log file is for 5.1.20, which I re-installed. When I get some time this weekend, I will try to recreate the error.
Thanks.

I've just uploaded my logfile. Running a Debian guest from a windows 10 64 bits host. From the guest, i'm unable to see any usb device. I tried to switch the usb controller from 2.0 to 3.0, no way. Version 5.1.22 r115126

The VBoxSVC.log file shows that no USB support is installed. Please uninstall VirtualBox, reboot the host, then re-install VirtualBox. The VBoxUSB.sys driver has to be installed (see the log file where it mentions VBoxDrv.sys, VBoxNetLwf.sys and VBoxNetAdp6.sys.

Please reopn if still relevant.
I assume that something went wrong installing the USB driver when you installed 5.1.22. I would like to see a VBoxSVC.log file (can be found in c:\users\USERNAME\.VirtualBox) when you run VirtualBox 5.1.22.
