starting with 5.1.20 the mini toolbar does not appear

Description
I run arch linux x86_64 curently kernel is 4.10.11-1-ARCH #1 SMP. If I run 5.1.18 then guests have the mini toolbar showing at the top. If I run 5.1.20 then I lose alsa sound and the mini toolbar does not appear. If I run 5.1.22 then alsa sound is restored, but the mini toolbar is not showing.
In the guest setup user interface I have both show in seamless and appear at top picked.
I use openbox as window manager and slim as login manager.

I'm seeing this issue as well. I found a work-around, <HOST-key>-<HOME> brings up a floating menu with the same options on it as the menu bar. #16325 reports a similar issue and claims 5.1.23 fixes it, although the reported problem is on much earlier release I didn't have any issues with.
Additionally, I used to have two icons appear, one for the file menu and one for the vbox guest. Since 5.1.20, only the icon for the vbox guest appears.
On moving the cursor to the bottom, mini-toolbar slides out. Moving mouse away lets it slide back into hiding. However it is not responding to mouse over or mouse click on all toolbar buttons. 6.Dual monitor host, vbox on screen 2.
