Description

Whenever I try installing VirtualBox 5.0.22 on Win10 my system automatically BSODs. Tried the installation without USB and Network options but still no change.

This is the error that Event Viewer is giving me:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe001f0132028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x0000000001001136). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 38d40960-df09-44b0-93ef-86393bffda9c.

I can provide the dump if needed.

Please provide the dump. Unfortunately I cannot provide you a server for uploading, can you provide me an URL? Via private email if you like (frank _dot_ mehnert _at_ oracle _dot_ com). Thanks!

Hey Frank,

I sent you a dropbox link to that email with the dump.

Thank you for all the help

Thanks for the dump! I'm sorry but this looks rather like a hardware problem. You will probably be curious why this happens with VBox but probably not with other applications. I cannot explain this but the information from the BSOD dump is pretty clear:

It's apparently a machine check exception. Might be some problem with your host CPU.

I figured as much and wanted to let you know anyway in case it was a larger problem like the i5-5xxx. Is there any workaround you can offer me for this problem?

Sorry, we don't have workarounds for hardware problems available.
