Description
I installed VirtualBox 5.0.2 on my host system which runs Windows 10.
It made my network fail. The tray icons shows no error but trying to access a website does not work. Restarting host does not help.
There are no errors in windows device manager. Both my network cards and VirtualBox's show.
Unintalling VirtualBox, immediately makes the network work again.
I have tried this on two computers with fresh windows 10 installs.
Both my computers have an intel network card. One computer with "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V", and the other with "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V" (this computer also has a "Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller").
I see the same problem when installing 5.0.4 on a computer that run Windows 7.
Prior to installation I had 4.3.30 installed, which worked perfectly.
The install of 5.0.4 seems to go OK. There are no error messages. The installer didn't ask for permission to install network drivers as it normally does. Could that be the problem?
A system restore solved the problem with the network.
