Ubuntu guest crashes on shutdown

Description

Host: Windows 7 (64-bit)

Guest: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (32-bit)

Ever since I upgraded to 4.3.26, my Ubuntu guest has been crashing on shutdown with the error: The memory could not be read. I've been using VBox since 4.2.0-80737, and I've never seen this behavior before. Attached is the log following the most recent crash.

This has been happening even before I changed the network interface from 82540EM to Am79C970A in an attempt to stabilize the network connection. But this is a separate issue; and one that's already been reported by others.

Here's a couple more info.

  1. Everything was stable (including network connectivity) with version 4.3.24.
  1. Restart/Reboot is fine; no issues. The problem is when the guest is being shut down.
