Random gcc or javac crashes in guest systems

Reported by: indifferent Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 4.3.16

Description

Issue is reproducible 100% of the time, but I have no idea what kind of information I can provide to help you resolve it, so please tell me what can I do. Maybe some specific log, maybe it is possible to enable debug output for some VBox components, or any other way to find the cause.

Host machine: 12 cores, 32GB RAM, running 7-9 VMs, acting as build farm. Tryed using RHEL7, Fedora20 and openSUSE 13.1 as host, issue does not change.

Guests: Fedora 19-20, RHEL 6-7, both 32 and 64 bits.

Every guest is assigned 4 cores and 4600MB RAM, build is done in guest tmpfs.

I'm using gnu parallel to run the guest build on no more than 3 VMs at the same time. Randomly compilation in some of the VMs will fail with gcc or javac segfault or "internal compiler error", and usually will continue failing, even after poweroff-start of the VM. Rebooting host machine moves that random failure to another VM.

Issue is not reproduced if only one VM is running, and I was not able to reproduce it on any other machine, though other machines are less powerful (8 cores and 16GB RAM max).

Issue is also reproducible with VBox 4.3.14 and 4.3.17.

Please attach a VBox.log file of such a VM session.

I apologize for the delay with logs, just got access to the machine.

There were 6 running VMs, 2 of them failed with strange errors (different errors for each one of them), so there are 2 logs in attached archive.

I haven't encountered this issue for a week or so now, probably the priority can be lowered.
