4.3.14 VirtualBox.exe Crashes after fresh install on Windows 7.

Description

I updated to 4.3.14 after getting a popup saying a newer version of Virtual Box was available. I did the update but thereafter VirtualBox. Exe crashed.

I have tried for two days to do a fresh install but all to no avail.

I have 1 deleted .VirtualBox completely

  1. I have restored and tinkered vith VirtualBox.xml ( One time only I actually got it to come doing this but with an older version of VB)

I have tried several revisions of Virtual Box and get the same thing so I guess not version related. I always seem to get the same event reported.

And the same error occurs irrespective if AV software ( Norton) is active or not.

Is Virtualbox a dead product? No one has touched this show stopping bug report in 7 weeks.

Still getting problem with 4.3.20 release.

If I start windows in safe mode then I can at least bring the virtualbox manager up.

Am I correct in guessing that no one at Oracle is currently working on this project?

You should be aware that there are currently about 4,000 tickets open. Please read these comments again, in particular the second paragraph.

Also, unless I misunderstood you, you said that your VirtualBox.exe process crashes but you attached installation logs. Please attach a VBox.log file of a VM session which crashed together with the VBoxStartup.log file.

I may have found the source of the problems.

I started stopping services until I got it to seemingly run. I stopped 'LVPrcSrv.exe' which is a logitech webcam helper. Then Virtualhost started to work again. This was a deeply troubling problem for many months. It would seem that Virtualbox does not play nicely with others.
