usbLibDevCfgDrGet: DeviceIoControl 1 fail winEr (31) - Guest Freeze

Description
Hello,
I have an annoying bug that stops me from using *any* of my USB devices. After a while, redirected USB devices 'freeze' the guest.
It seems that the drivers resets the device, Windows re-enumerates the device, and the guest is left hanging waiting for some USB operation to complete -hence the freeze.
Hardware: Host: Lenovo X1 Carbon (Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit) Guest: Gentoo 64bit, Windows 7 64 bit. (It doesn't matter what guest OS, the problem appears in all VMs.

Exact same issue on HP EliteBook 8760w.
If have the suspicion that this is related to McAfee DLP ("Device Control"). Do you have that running on your system? A related report regarding VMWare can be found here: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB59755
