Virtual box installer not opening

Description

I am running a windows 8 labtop with a i7 prosecer and whenever I open the virtual box installer, nothing happens. I tried many many times, redownloaded it, restarted my computer, nothing works. Does virtual box have windows 8 support? If not is there a good alternative?

Yes, VirtualBox 4.2.16 supports Windows 8. Please have a look here how to enable installer logging.

That's a different issue. Please download VirtualBox 4.2.18 for Windows again from the official website. We updated the download link.

Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.
