Cannot Connect using IP address and Port forwarding

Reported by: TK Owned by:
Component: network/NAT Version: VirtualBox 4.1.14

Guest type: Linux Host type: Windows

Description

I have multiple VB's that I use. I have never had an issue connecting. Now I cannot connect using the IP address. (I can connect from the host workstation using localhost). I have no idea what changed. I need to be able to get to these VB's. The error is Cannot Connect: The proxy could not connect to the destination in time. Please verify the site you are attempting to access and retry.

Could you please clarify what does it mean "I cannot connect using the IP address" ? And could you please attach the log file?

I have port forwarding configured on my Virtualbox for a service running. When I connect via .. localhost:20201/cs it works. When I connect via http://144.144.22.44:20201/cs I get error: (both in IE & Firefox) .. CANNOT CONNECT .. The proxy could not connect to the destination in time. Please verify the site you are attempting to access and retry.

All my virtualbox's are doing the same thing. They were all working before. I am not sure what I changed. I did move them. I think they were working after that. Not sure what else I may have done.

I am attaching the log files.

I have to connect via another workstation so I have to use the IP address.

Here is what I have done thus far: I made sure the firewalls on both workstations were disabled. I made sure wpad.dat was configured on both workstations. I did reset then added back in the wpad.dat I cleared browser cache I powered down all workstations, the DSL & the hardware vpn box I confirmed the port forwarding I cleared DNS cache (something read)

I found a work around: Host hosts file: IPADDRESSOFVIRTUALBOX fmw11g.vm.oracle.com

REMOTE host file: IPADDRESSOFHOSTBOX fmw11g.vm.oracle.com

It appears that perhaps the upgrade to Java 7 caused the issue?

Discovered that our internal network security was modified. This caused the issue. I appreciate all the assistance.
