The installer keeps failing after getting a blue screen

Description
I have tried to install the Oracle VM VirtualBox onto a windows 7 machine. The first time the installation was terminated via a blue screen. Ever since that dreadful moment, I have been unable to install the VIrtualBox onto this host.

Wild guess: Do you have some unusual USB devices attached to your host (other than mouse and keyboard)?
