Component: | other | Version: | VirtualBox 4.2.12 |

Description
Seems to crash regardless of OS - but usually right after the VM is shutdown - meaning, you shutdown XP, Win 7 or OEL 5 (using shutdown from the command line) and the VM crashes - in the case of XP the hard disk can sometimes become corrupted and unrecoverable.

I'm afraid that doesn't tell us very much. At the least you should attach a log file as the bug reporting guidelines say<1>. If you feel up to it you could create a process dump which records information about the state of VirtualBox when it crashed<2>. You could also give a recent test build a shot, as we did recently fix one bug which could lead to crashes on shut-down, though I am not too hopeful that it will stop your particular crashes<3>.
