Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

Seems like some USB devices doesn't work properly with VBox 1.5.4, tried on 2 different systems (opensuse 10.3 and Ubuntu Gutsy) with different hardware. Particullary I have problems with this device (meanwhile USB camera still works under 1.5.4):

Bus 002 Device 007: ID 076b:3021 OmniKey AG CardMan 3121

It is working under native XP installation and under VBox 1.5.2 with XP as guest, so it is 1.5.4 problem. In 1.5.4 with windows guest it is still recognized (when not using EHCI), but all status lights goes off (that shouldn't happen) and Device manager shows an error:

The device cannot start (error code 10)

So the obvious question is: does the device work when enabling ECHI?

Replying to sandervl73:

No. It is shown, but listed as unknown device and I cannot install drivers for it.

With EHCI enabled I get this error in windows guest:

One of the usb devices attached has malfunctioned, and windows doesn't recognise it.

VBox log with EHCI enabled:

I've got exactly the same issue with the same "Warning" but with an iPod Photo. I didn't try to downgrade to 1.5.2 release.

Still same with VBox 1.5.6. Sticking with 1.5.2.
Btw, if you need more info, please tell me so.

Same problem here. It detects the iPod, but the device cannot be started (error 10). I'm running Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP2 under openSuSE 10.3 host. The device is an iPod Nano (Vendor 05AC, Product 120A). =/

Hi! I can confirm this. I'm using ubuntu hardy with virtualbox 1.6.6-35336_Ubuntu_hardy (from ppa). The ipod is detected by the windows xp guest, but it fails to load and gives the error "The device cannot start (error 10)" while installing the mass storage driver.
