#10235 closed defect (obsolete)

Menus do not appear if main window uses OpenGL to Windows 7 hosts

Description

The simulation tool CST design studio uses either DirectX (not sure about this one) or OpenGL for rendering. The drop down menu items in CST are not displayed correctly. For some reason, the menu items get displayed "below" the main OpenGL widget, so they are not visible. Usage of the simulation tool within VBox due to this bug is practically impossible.

This happens on Win7 32bit / 64bit guests on a MacMini OSX host running Lion 10.7.3. The version of CST design studio does not seem to matter...

Checked the forum and found a similar entry (Ticket #5659 regarding the App Sublime Text) that was marked as fixed - but at least with application CST design studio the issue still persists.

You might want to try VBox 4.3 with 4.3 Guest Additions and VBox WDDM 3D driver installed (i.e. answer "No" to "Would you like to install Basic D3D support" dialog appearing when you select "3D Acceleration" component in Guest Additions installer.)
With WDDM driver the menu thingy should be fixed.
