Virtualbox doesn't detect any network interfaces in Vista Home Premium

Description
VirtualBox 1.3.8 does not recognize any of my network interfaces running under Vista Home Premium.
The computer is a Gateway MT3705

It seems to me that you didn't create a host interface device. Please look at the user manual. You need one and then create a network bridge.

I had the same problem with Vista Business edition.
The advice on http://jhcore.com/2007/03/25/vista-on-ubuntu-using-virtualbox/ and http://www.arsgeek.com/?p=1348 solved it for me.
Apparently the driver wasn't included in the Guest Additions - and it would be nice if it was ...

We are looking at getting the rights to include the driver in our guest additions. (WontFix for now though).

I am running Vista Ultimate as guest on Windows XP and have the same issue. However, this doesn't really appear to be a problem. The actual problem is that Vista does not have any drivers for the AMD PCNET FAST79C971, which is the device that Virtualbox emulates. But, to give you guys some good news, my Vista is now networked. Not sure if anybody else reported this but you can download the appropriate drivers from AMD.
