OpenVPN linux bridge server no longer able to bridge to network after upgrade to 4.0.6 or 4.0.8

Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

I am running an Ubuntu 11.04 server guest OS on a windows 7 64bit host. Ubuntu runs a bridge OpenVPN server. After an upgrade to either 4.0.6 or 4.0.8, clients can connect to the server, but no traffic is passed over the bridge. I can ping the server from the client, but cannot get to any machine on the other side of the bridge.

The bridge device, br0, is made up of the tap0 and eth0 devices.

Once I downgrade VirtualBox back to 4.0.4, the bridge device once again passes traffic.

Finally got some time to test this with the later releases. Testing 4.1.2 with the exact same results. Had to back down to version 4.0.4 to get the OpenVPN server to pass any network traffic to the rest of the network.

I am having the same problem with 4.1.2 with Debian 6 as both the host and guest.

I just realized 4.1.4 was released earlier today. The problem is present in that version as well.

I'm experiencing the same issue on 4.1.6. I'll upgrade to a new version if doing so will solve the issue.
