Teach NAT to avoid over load with network activity. — at Version 5

Reported by: anonymous Owned by:

Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

What I´ve done in parallel is: -running Windows 7 64bitand compiling chromium with Visual Studio 2010 SP1 -running windowsXP Sp3 and downloading from e-academy/dreamspark new microsoft software -> Network -running running windows vista buisnes 32bit (installation and later update -> Network -running Windows Server 2008 R2 enterprise wich keeps still up for configuration

When Vista comes up and fetch it´s updates it kills the connections of the other Windows.(seems to be Vista).

The main problem is that in paradox vista could reach the internet, but the hostsystem(openSUSE11.4) on wich virtualbox is running could not(->firefox browser get no connection).

There is a problem of orchestration the connections of many guests in parralel. It could be especially correlate to the network behavior of vista.

A zip of the logs of all four guests will be added.

Just to be sure you haven't mind really crash, right? Is it possible to reproduce, just doing general download on your Vista guest?

comment:2 by anonymous, 13 years ago

There is no crash of the guests(well, windows 7 has one other problem with crashing like I described in some other reports before). The Network at all is still running, but the Vista guest dominate it in total.

To reproduce? -> Well, I don´t want to do in the moment. Sorry, I know that is not very cooperative, but I´ve spend so much time in the last weeks with going arround virtualbox bugs or doing work step by step and not in parallel(there are really some problems with running several machines in parallel), that I end up a little bit frustrated. -> May be I do it at the end of the week.

By the way: Is there a chance that you can make a nearby maintanance release, or give at minimum a estimated date for a release. -> I don´t coming finished with the things I want to do on the virtualmachines and don´t want to use a other virtualisation solution(keep openSource, you know).

Greetings and good luck

I´ve tried to work on several Windows in parallel again, but with VB4.0.6. There are still problems with the Network, but ... other. It crashed the network completely, also the hostconnection.
