slow performance and tons of messages like 00:43:44.065 PATM: Failed to refresh dirty patch at c104a4d8. Disabling it. in Log.

I'm also affected. I run VB 3.2.12r68302 on Ubuntu 10.04.2, hosting a guest with Ubuntu 11.04. Certain VBox.log grew to more than 20 MByte showing zillions of these errors!

That bug is fixed in VBox 4.0.6.
