The same problem happens on my computer I was able to locate the feature which breaks it on mine: selecting ICH9 with IO-APIC. Without IO-APIC its fine.

Features I use:

  • PIIX3
  • VT-x + Nested Paging
  • No PAE
  • ICH9 for IDE
  • USB
  • Eth (E1000)
  • Intel HD audio

Also using PIIX3 or disabling/enabling any other feature seemed fine.

markymark, which VBox version are you using and which version of the Guest Additions?

comment:4 by markymark, 13 years ago

VBox 4.0.10 r72479 and the addition which comes with it.

Before I was running 3.0.8 without any issues.
