Error during installation leaves a non-functional virtualbox

Description
When installing virtualbox-4.0 with apt-get under linux mint debian edition, the process ends in a severe crash when trying to load vbox modules. Virtualbox is then installed but freeze the whole computer when starting a vm.

Sorry can't do, changed the kernel since. If it's of any help I can tell I was using the basic kernel coming with lmde and had virtualbox 3.2 installed beforehands.

I fixed my situation using svmi script to reinstall virtualbox. I'm not sure but I suspect a conflict with some leftover files from virtualbox 3.2.
