Key mapping problem - Win XP guest / Mac host

Reported by: Mustafa Arif Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 3.2.12
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Mac OS X

Description (last modified by aeichner)

Pressing the characters on the left (on my host Mac keboard) produce the characters on the right (in my Windows XP guest):

\ -> # # -> <apparently no response> ` -> \ ~ -> | | -> ~ ± -> ¬ § -> `

There may be others but this what I've discovered.

The effect is identical both when I'm using the built-in keyboard on my MacBook Pro and my Apple External Keyboard.

Please note I am using UK keyboard layouts - in which Shift-3 is a the pound sterling symbol (£) and Opt-3 is the hash symbol (#). Opt-4 works fine as the Euro symbol (€) in both host and guest.

Host version: Mac OS X 10.6.5 guest version: Windows XP SP3
