VirtualBox prevents Mac OS X shutdown even when it's not running a VM — at Initial Version

Description
When VirtualBox is running and shutdown of Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) is triggered, VirtualBox will prevent shutdown, with Mac OS saying "VirtualBox prevented shutdown" or something similar.
This makes sense if a VM is running inside VirtualBox. However, this also happens when no VM is running.
When no VM is running, VirtualBox will in fact gracefully close, but only after preventing Mac OS from shutting down.
