Description (last modified by )
I am using VirtualBox version 3.2.6 (r63112) on Ubuntu 10.04. My guest OS is Windows XP SP3. I am trying to get the guest OS to see the Harmony remote control. When I plug it in I can see an entry for it under the "Devices=>USB Devices" menu as "Harmony Remote 0-2.5.0 [1066]" but when I select that I get an error dialog box saying:
Failed to attach the USB device Harmony Remote 0-2.5.0 [1066] to the virtual machine Win-XP. Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR).
The relevant line from the VBox log is this:
00:03:40.227 ERROR [COM]: aRC=NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) aIID={6375231a-c17c-464b-92cb-ae9e128d71c3} aComponent={Console} aText={Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR)} aWarning=false, preserve=false
I would add that this is not a problem with USB in general as I can successfully access a Patriot USB memory stick. I only get this error with the Harmony remote control device.
