Does this also happen if you disable 2D and 3D for this guest?

2D/3D: on/on -> crash after several "Host+F" switches.
2D/3D: off/off -> switching seems to work ok.
2D/3D: off/on -> switching seems to work ok.
2D/3D: on/off -> crash after several "Host+F" switches.

I followed the link, the core. file would not be generated in my case. It seems that the guest os does not completely crash. It is still listed with the Status: "Sleeping" in the Processes list.

Console shows following errors:

user@thinkpad:~$ /usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox -startvm "Development" Qt WARNING: X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3
