No USBFS in Open Suse 10.2 they say it needs libusb compiled in to use more secure alternative

Description
After much trying to get USB to work I found that opensuse 10.2 does not have /proc/bus/usb mounted and cannot easily have it mounted without re-compiling the kernal, which is something I personally have never done.
It seems that this is due to security issues, and libusb should be used, is this an update that is likely to happen?

Hi,
I actually went ahead and recompiled my kernel, setup /proc/bus/usb with permissions noted in a VMWare/openSUSES note and still, I couldn't get USB to work.
I went so far as to uninstall VB, remove all files in $HOME/.VirtualBox, reboot my machine and re-installed VB to no avail.
If you have a work-around on how to get USB to work with 1.3.6 and openSUSE 10.2, I would very much appreciate it.
Kind regards, -pablo

We will use libusb in the future for device detection, but rely on the usb interface that was disabled in OpenSuse 10.2. The OpenSuse guys realized they have made a big mistake (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210899#c47), so I'll close this defect.
We plan to make use of libusb instead of usbfs in the future.
