Description

Hi,

I have a problem my virtualbox 3.1.2 with Ubuntu 9:10 too much ram.

If I give Ubuntu 2GB, it takes about 5hours then my RAM in the task manager is up to 8-10GB (the VirtualBox.exe in the Task manager has only about 30MB. When I shutdown Ubuntu then the RAM is not released, so the task manager are still 8-10GB in used. When I start Ubuntu again and kill the VirtualBox.exe via task manager, then I get my 8-10GB back.

If I give the Ubuntu only 512MB it takes about 2 days, then the RAM is full again.

My biggest problem is that my system will get a BSOD when there is no more free RAM available.

I have other Microsoft OSs in VirtualBox, there seems to be no problems.

My system: Windows Server 2008r2 (x64) / 16 GB FB RAM

Did you enable 3d in the VM settings and are using Compiz in the Ubuntu VM? If so, please turn it off and see if that helps.

Yes i use Compiz in Ubuntu, with 3D enable,

so if i disable the 3D support, it looks better, But that's not really the solution.

I use virtual box for the compiz 3d support, otherwise I would use vmware7.

If the a fix for me ?
