Solaris USB support is still not working

Description

According to http://www.virtualbox.de/ticket/2830:

"The new USB support is available in VirtualBox 3.1 (requires snv_124 or higher)."

I'm running snv_127 + VB 3.1.0 with a WinXP guest, and when I plug my Nokia E71 in, Solaris recognises it, but no matter what I try, VirtualBox won't allow me to use it. Unlike previous versions I don't get any error dialogs, but the device just isn't visible inside the VM. I do see an assertion failure in the log file, though (attached).
