Unknown error creating VM (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE) 0x80004005

Hi I installed virtual box 3.0.10 on my XP PC and tried to create an Ubuntu VM When I start the VM I always get the Error Unknown error creating VM (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE) and the error code 0x80004005 I tried to reinstall virtual box, to delete an recreate the virtual hard disk drive and loaded a new Ubuntu image. I run virtual box with an admin account.

Try to reinstall VBox, use the current release 3.1.2. Reopen if the problem persists.

I am getting a similar problem. When I start a VM, there is a big chance to get the error message "Unknown error creating VM (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE) 0x80004005", and I have to retry several times to make it work. vbox version: 3.1.4 host: windows 7 64bit

Hi ok maybe a short statement on my actual status. After franks comment from beginning of February I updated my virtualbox version and magic magic it is working for me. But I'm using a xp 32 bit so no idea what this means for you guoguy with a 64 bit win7

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.0.4.
