Note: The config file is named OpenSUSE 11.2 because that's what I was originally trying to install and received the same message. If you look at the log files, you'll see I switched to the 11.1 CD to verify it was not the unreleased software.

Verified similar issue occurs with Windows 7 RC x64 install CD. Pertinent info from the error screen: File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe Status; 0xc000035a Info: Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode.

I guess your host CPU is a Pentium D, is that right? There are variants around which have VT-x available and other variants which haven't this feature, see the  Intel Processor finder. Unfortunately it isn't obvious from the CPUID which CPU you have. Try to enable VT-x in the BIOS. It might be necessary to upgrade your BIOS to enable that feature. VirtualBox supports 64-bit guests only if the host has VT-x or AMD-V available. If your CPU does not have VT-x there is no way to execute 64-bit guests, sorry.
