USB Problems after timeout on bulk transfer

I'm using an USB device inside Virtualbox which creates most of the time a timeout on an USB bulk transfer by not sending an acknowledge with intention. The kernel module driver get this timeout and does handle it properly.
But after this timeout occured once USB transfers (at least to this device) don't work properly. Some bulk transfers succeed, some failed with timeout.
Using the same driver without Virtualbox also gives a timeout but afterwards USB transfers are working properly to this device.
It seems that the timed out USB bulk transfer is cancelled properly by Virtualbox.
Host machine: Gentoo 64Bit
Guest machine: Gentoo 32Bit
