VirtualBox GUI crash

Description
VirtualBox 2.2.? on a Windows XP Professional Host, updating an ubuntu guest from 8.10 desktop to 9.04 guest has not gone well. In resolving the problems I wound up upgrading the VirtualBox to 3.0.2 r49928, uninstalling the old guest additions and installing the new guest additions. This now brought me back to a useable system; however, shortly after the Ubuntu guest goes into screensaver I get a Windows crash w/ the Dialog box having the title 'VirtualBox GUI'. Opening up the error detail gives me:

What did you do to produce the GUI crash and does it still happen with VBox 3.0.6?
