VBox.log would be useful as well as a core dump from the X11 process. Thanks.

So you're saying you've been getting these crashes in the 2.x series as well?

I had similar experience with 2.2.4 VBOX.

I don't have a core dump, I'll try to figure out how to make one ...

Did you update your Guest Additions to the latest version?

comment:5 by Michael Thayer, 15 years ago

Also the full guest X.Org log might be useful. If this is relevant to the VirtualBox 3.0.2 Additions, I will look at providing you with a version of the Additions which produces more log output.

I believe I'm using the latest addition, snippet from dmesg: vboxadd: Successfully loaded version 3.0.2 (interface 0x00010004)

I've attached the full Xorg log.

s.illes79: sorry that I lost track of this bug... are you still seeing these crashes? The current beta version of VirtualBox - see http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=21919&sid=7e4cd25f34112d76f223b51ba0fe18b2 - has the extra logging I mentioned in xorg.conf. (Can't remember now whether 3.0.4 does).

Hi Michael,

I haven't seen these crashes for a while.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

So please reopen if you observe these crashes again. Make sure you use the latest release (VBox 3.0.8) and update the guest additions.
