I reported this issue back in Beta 1, it hasn't been fixed in the release version 3.0 (http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=18819)
The three keys for /VirtualBox/GuestAdd/* are no longer being populate due to a failure with the guest additions reading the information from the registry. I checked and verified that these registry keys exist. I also did a uninstall + reboot + reinstall + reboot to see if it was an issue with GA upgrade but still same issue. This settings used to work in 2.1.6 and was useful to detecting if the GA needed to be upgraded in a particular guest from the host side.

Thanks for the report. I just verified that again and fixed it. Should be in one of the next OSE exports and in the next upcoming version of course. If the problem still exists then please re-open this ticket. Thanks!
