Guru Meditation when Closing X server on Zenwalk 6.0

Description
Almost every time (99 times out of 100) I log out of X the VM goes to "guru meditate". All settings related to the desktop environment (Xfce based on GTK) are lost. Guest additions were successfuly installed - @ least the installer did not complain of anything. The system is set up to start in runlevel 3. X is started with the /usr/bin/startx script.
