2.2.4 ubuntu install fails

Description
I am running virtualbox 2.2.4 on windows xp. I can't install ubuntu 9.04 desktop, or try the live cd. I create a virtual machine, mount the iso image from my hard drive, and click run. If I try to install or run the live cd option, it spins up my one cpu to 100 % and never progresses
