RHEL5 Guest install crashes

Reported by: Murali Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 2.2.2

Guest type: Linux Host type: Windows

Description

I was installing an RHEL 5 guest on my VirtualBox (2.2.2) with 8 GB hard disk and roughly 2 GB RAM allocated for the VM. It successfully navigated past all the screens where data is required from the user (hard disk, keyboard, timezone, networking etc) and during the install phase, I got a popup message with two options "OK" and "Ignore" (this option used to trouble shoot). The message asked me to log a ticket/bug here.

Details of my host:

DELL Precision M4400 laptop. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 Ghz, 4 GB RAM. Running Windows XP Professional SP3.

Reduce the amount of memory assigned to the VM to below 2 GB.

No response. Please Close this bug.

Besides, I have tested RHEL 5.3 here, and it works fine.

Host: Windows 7, x64, Core 2 Q6600, VBox 3.0.10. (VT-x = on)
