The same on old virtual machine as in new created one

So cause was that I was not in vboxusers group ? It seems to be working now after i add user to that group and logout. Anyway that error message is really confusing. I am on arch linux , using latest 2.2.2

Which Linux package did you install (exact package name please)? Actually there is no need to be a member of the vboxusers group when starting VirtualBox 2.2.2.
