Confusing error message during startup when user isn't part of vboxusers group

Description

next error after clicked abort:

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: Machine Interface: IMachine {13420cbb-175a-4456-85d0-301126dfdec7}

The same on old virtual machine as in new created one

Should we guess which host OS you are using? A bit more information would be useful.

So cause was that I was not in vboxusers group ? It seems to be working now after i add user to that group and logout. Anyway that error message is really confusing. I am on arch linux , using latest 2.2.2

Ok, I agree that the error message is confusing.

Which Linux package did you install (exact package name please)? Actually there is no need to be a member of the vboxusers group when starting VirtualBox 2.2.2.
